We Need to Talk About: Elizabeth Graeber

Elizabeth Graeber is a Washington D.C. – based artist and illustrator currently working on a book entitled “An Illustrated Guide to Cocktails”. She’s also done, “Pie A Hand Drawn Almanac”, “Animals A to Z” and many others. Her aesthetic is sort of studied-sketch with a great use of color. You can find tons of her work on her Etsy site, which features, among other things, bird postcards, painted vases and painted coasters.

She has this fantastic feature on her site, where she takes photos of all her sketchbooks and then, by clicking them, you can see inside them, page by page. It’s awesome internetting at its best.

Her work reminds me in the best way of Roz Chast, long-time New Yorker cartoonist, but with an updated color palette and no text.
